Fogtown Environments

In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, me and my film partner Sean Parker set out to bring our long-developed project Fogtown to life. It’s a mystery-comedy series performed by puppets in front of digital worlds using the latest virtual production technology. All the environments were created by me in Blender, with the hand painted cardboard texturing done in Substance Painter. The world of Fogtown started with the main character’s apartment, but is slowly expanding to the world outside, including Victorian era city streets and a classic British pub. When we’re not rendering environments out of Blender, the Fogtown team is assembling the assets in Unreal Engine to be able to utilize it’s real-time rendering technology and virtual camera tracking. All of that can be seen in some of videos featured in this gallery. We managed to crowdfund $50K to produce our pilot episode, which is currently in pre-production.
